Vision Products

  • The Eye Institute offers a variety of eyewear options, including frames, specialty lenses, contacts, eyewear for sports protection, and sunglasses. We pride ourselves on offering the latest technology in lenses for frames and contact lenses, while also providing a variety of styles in frames and sunglasses so you can find something to match both your needs and your personality. Our frames are from both known designers and independent retailers making a name for themselves. We want to help you find eyewear as unique as you.

    Contact Lenses

Advances in contact lens design and materials have made them a clear, comfortable option for many people requiring vision correction. Our office has extensive training and experience in fitting most popular styles of contact lenses, including:

    • Rigid, gas permeable lenses
    • Soft lenses – daily, bi-weekly, monthly and extended wear
    • Toric lenses (for astigmatism)
    • Multifocal (for distance and up-close vision)
    • Fashion Color Lenses

    Scleral Contact Lenses
If you’ve had trouble in the past with contact lenses giving you unstable vision or always rotating out of place, scleral lenses may be a great option for you! Scleral contact lenses correct small to large amounts of astigmatism and treat corneal conditions that prevented past contact lens wear. Our doctors will be happy to discuss your options and make sure that these lenses will be a great fit.

These lenses are hard and cover a much larger area of the eye than other types of contacts. Astigmatism in most cases is due to the irregular curvature of the cornea (front of the eye). These lenses cover the whole area and eliminate the effects of astigmatism. Learn more about these lenses at www.sclerallens.org. Then ask your Eye Institute optometrist about them on your next visit.

    Eyeglasses/Eyewear

    Frames
The Eye Institute is committed to working with a large variety of frame designers, from world-renowned brands to independent retailers. We stock a variety of frame styles for men, women, teens and children. Eyewear designers are creating amazing works of art for your best look, even incorporating a variety of materials from lightweight plastic and metal alloys to wood. Whether you are seeking something fashion-forward or more traditional, you’ll find it at The Eye Institute.

    Lenses
Frames aren’t the only aspect of your glasses that come with options! Our office offers an array of eyeglass lenses to meet individual vision requirements. Some of the available lenses are:

    • High Index Lenses that are thinner and lighter than ordinary lenses.
    • Progressive Addition Lenses that correct for near, middle and distance vision without the lines of bifocal or trifocal lenses.
    • Transitions ® Lenses that are clear indoors, but darken automatically when you go outdoors.
    • Polycarbonate Lenses are our first choice for children because of their impact resistance and lightweight.
    • Polarized Lenses that reduce glare and provide protection from harmful UV rays.
    • Blue-blocking lenses for screen protection.

    Sunglasses
Sunglasses aren’t just about style – they’re essential in protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. And sunglasses aren’t just for adults. Studies have shown that 85% of the UV damage done to a person’s eyes occurs before they are 18 years old. We offer many styles of sunglasses, but we can also make prescription lenses for just about any sunglass frame.

    Sports/Protective Eyewear
Our office can prescribe specialized eyewear to protect your eyes at work or at play. Specialty frames and prescription or non-prescription lenses are available for:

    • Sports including basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, football, racquet sports and hockey
    • Work
    • Swimming
    • Skiing
