Having worked in the Wake Forest community as an eye doctor since 1995, Dr. Yoakum opened his own practice at Heritage in 2005. He’s a resident of the town and recognized the growth of the area and need for an independent vision care practice that specialized in creating an individual experience for every patient, based on their ocular and visual needs. Rather than rushing a patient through their exam, the doctors at Heritage strive to take the time with each patient to determine an accurate diagnosis, a perfect prescription for glasses and contacts, and assist them in the selection of distinctive eyewear and contact lenses .

Exciting News!! Heritage Eye Care became a part of The Eye Institute in January of this year. For years these independent practices have enjoyed a professional collegiality and mutual appreciation of commitment to exemplary patient care. It made good sense for the two teams to merge together and bring more resources to the area’s patients. The team of doctors and staff at Heritage will remain the same but the new support from The Eye Institute will bring about an office renovation, offer more eyewear lines and additional diagnostic instrumentation to better serve the Wake Forest area.
